Zerco Systems’ CEO Sites Zerco Solution to Immigrant Worker ID Problem
Brookfield, OH – John Niotti-Soltesz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zerco Systems International Inc., says technology has made great strides toward alleviating illegal worker identification issues and that his company has a workable solution that would help settle identification problems companies face when employing legal immigrant workers in their factories and businesses.
He said Zerco Systems has a turnkey Biometric Worker ID solution so companies can show proof they are taking all reasonable steps to qualify and authenticate their legal workers. In the past, companies have faced major losses due to shutdowns resulting from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions, such as plant closures, while their workers are being verified for legal status.
“The most notable example of such a closure was with Swift and Company, which lost millions upon millions of dollars when its plants were temporarily closed due to such ICE actions,” he said.
"Companies are at risk regarding immigrant worker identification requirements,” added Niotti-Soltesz. He noted that, “Zerco a on-site Worker ID management solution, using biometric technology to qualify workers, helping to protect companies from unnecessary regulatory actions that could lead to shutdowns, lawsuits, penalties and loss of reputation."
ICE last year raided six Swift plants in six states, arresting more than 1,200 immigrant workers and stopping production and this year another ICE raid at Swift resulted in 19 more arrests.
The Zerco CEO said, "Zerco Systems has the technology solution to address the dilemma that employers face since the stand-alone on-site biometric Employee Worker Identity Card solution system does not require linking to a central computer system to verify worker ID information."
Zerco's ID solution includes tamper resistant, memory-rich optical ID cards and readers to instantly interpret information embedded in the plastic cards, enabling companies to show that they are taking all steps to qualify immigrant workers as legally in the U.S. Zerco's ID cards contain vast data, including the biometric identifiers of finger prints, facial recognition, signature, voice prints and iris scans."
