Zerco Systems Offers Biometric Solution to Immigrant Worker ID Problem
Zerco Systems CEO John Niotti-Soltesz says, "The Zerco biometric worker ID solution, including ID cards and readers, can authenticate immigrant workers in an on-site turnkey system that may better protect companies from regulatory shutdowns and other actions."
Brookfield, OH - September 18, 2007 -- With companies facing millions of dollars in shutdown losses due to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and related closures while their workforce is being checked for illegal immigrants, such as happened to Swift and Company, Zerco Systems is offering a turnkey Biometric Worker ID solution so companies can show proof of qualifying and authenticating their legal workers.
John A. Niotti-Soltesz, Chairman and CEO of Zerco Systems International Inc., said, "Companies face challenges and are at risk regarding immigrant worker identification requirements. Zerco offers a stand-alone on-site Worker ID management solution, using advanced biometric technology to qualify workers and better protect companies from regulatory actions that might result in shutdowns, lawsuits, penalties, loss of company reputation and a lessening in the brand values that built."
ICE, in its most widely reported action of checking worker immigrant status, last December raided six Swift plants in six states, arresting more than 1,200 immigrant workers and stopping production and this year another ICE raid at Swift resulted in 19 more arrests.
"Companies in industries with large immigrant workforces face similar actions, said Niotti-Soltesz, who added, "The turn-key Zerco system of biometric ID for workers will demonstrate that companies are working within all reasonable means to qualify and authenticate workers, resulting in a more safe environment, lessened closures and improved worker efficiency and company operations during this trying time in our nation's history."
